Einstein, genius in a dog, demonstrates shutting the door!

This is fun! My genius in a dog, Einstein, and I want to inspire you to have more fun with your animals. Animals love to learn. They enjoy games and like us, they need to be challenged to use their minds more often.

This short video is of a new game I taught Einstein -- how to shut the door! Now he's enjoying the role of being the doorman for the household, and has appointed himself the personal doorman (doordog??) for our cat Lucy too. He alerts me by ringing the bell when she wants to come in or out, and afterward he shuts the door. He surprised the heck out of workman we had here last week when he shut the door behind him unexpectedly after he came inside.

Remember -- if you're not having fun, then you're doing something wrong!

The secret to good training is to talk about it with your animals first. You need to find out if what you're asking makes sense to them - or not. If they have questions, concerns or any problem with doing that (what if it hurt them in some way that you didn't know about?? that's not fun...)
